Laboratory

Laboratory

Delmet's scientific laboratory is an indispensable asset that has enabled the discovery and application of numerous innovations in the care of stainless steel. The laboratory is made up of different sections that combine to offer: constant research and development of new solutions, immediate support for customised interventions based on the customer's needs, continuous tests and analyses to verify the validity of the processes adopted.

The research and development department

dedicates itself to the optimisation and innovation of available resources, favouring the progressive use of compounds and less aggressive procedures for man and the environment, without sacrificing the effectiveness offered by traditional techniques. New products, raw materials and methods are constantly evaluated with a view to continuous evolution for the benefit of stainless steel and its main stainless steel pickling, stainless steel passivation, stainless steel electropolishing and stainless steel derouging processes.

The application department

deals with and examines customers' needs, looking for the most effective solution for the management and treatment of the materials submitted.. The entire process is presented to the customer who is then able to verify, thanks to Delmet's technical consultancy, the best procedure to apply to achieve the expected result.

The section dedicated to analysis and tests

is involved in numerous areas related, on the one hand, to the routine analysis and control of water and products and, on the other, to corrosion tests and trials to continuously improve the performance offered on the materials to be treated, with particular attention to objects and products in direct contact with food.

01.

CORROSION TESTING

Thanks to the instruments available, it is possible to undertake numerous tests and investigations, among which:
  • Corrosion resistance investigations
  • Tests on corrosive phenomena or structural failures
  • Identification of polluting materials on steel
  • Measurement of the roughness of the steel surface
  • Morphological investigations on the metal surface
  • Thermal shock trials and tests on stainless steel

02.

FCM TEST

FCM, or food contact materials: this involves correctly applying the standard to finished products intended to be put into contact with food, preventing risk.
There are a number of dedicated tools to perform risk assessment on stainless steel:
  • The use of so-called positive lists of chemical compositions of stainless steel already approved
  • The application of global and specific migration tests, and their limits, to ensure their suitability
  • Investigations on transmittance
The processes offered by Delmet, both on a contract basis and when creating a customised system, ensure compliance in the context of materials and objects in contact with food.

QUALITY&SAFETY

No compromise The quality of the raw material and its control of the production process allow Delmet to obtain a guaranteed and certified finished product.

ECO THINKING

Making a difference thanks to product knowledge, innovation and sustainability.

DESIGN

Functionality, aesthetics, service: the design comes from the ideal synthesis between these aspects.

RESEARCH&DEVELOPMENT

always oriented towards achieving the balance between man, the needs of a production process and the functionality of machinery.

MISSION

Delmet does not tolerate any compromise in terms of quality and safety.

It conducts stringent checks on the entire value chain. Each product is designed and manufactured under the direct and vigilant supervision of the department managers. Right from the product design and purchase of raw materials, quality and safety are a priority for the Group. The raw material used to build its plants does not create environmental imbalances. These are elements such as stainless steel and polypropylene which can be 100% recyclable.

At its core, its ecological thinking is focused on innovation which, in addition to increasing the performance of its products, is also committed to reducing waste and consumption. A commitment that stems from the awareness that innovation means not only constantly improving the technical, functional and formal quality of the product, but also finding solutions to combine all this with the utmost respect for the environment that surrounds us. The activities dedicated to research & development have the precise objective of achieving an ideal balance between the development of an innovative solution and concrete production management.
